Transitive Properties of Ideals on Generalized Cantor Spaces

In this paper we compute transitive cardinal coefficients of ideals on generalized Cantor spaces. In particular, we observe that there exists a null set A ⊆ 21 such that for every null set B ⊆ 21 we can find x ∈ 21 such that the set A ∪ (A + x) cannot be covered by any translation of the set B.

Properties of Ideals on The Generalized Cantor Spaces

We define a class of productive σ−ideals of subsets of the Cantor space 2ω and observe that both σ−ideals of meagre sets and of null sets are in this class. From every productive σ−ideal J we produce a σ−ideal Jκ of subsets of the generalized Cantor space 2κ. In particular, starting from meagre sets and null sets in 2ω we obtain meagre sets and null sets in 2κ, respectively. Then we investigate...

A Generalized Cantor Theorem

A well known theorem of Cantor asserts that the cardinal of the power-set of a given set always exceeds the cardinal of the original set. An analogous result for sets having additional structure is the well known theorem that the set of initial segments of a well ordered set always has order type greater than the original set. These two theorems suggest that there should be a similar result for...

An Exploration Of The Generalized Cantor Set

In this paper, we study the prototype of fractal of the classical Cantor middle-third set which consists of points along a line segment, and possesses a number of fascinating properties. We discuss the construction and the self-similarity of the Cantor set. We also generalized the construction of this set and find its fractal dimension.

Metric Diophantine approximation on the middle-third Cantor set

Let μ ≥ 2 be a real number and let M(μ) denote the set of real numbers approximable at order at least μ by rational numbers. More than eighty years ago, Jarńık and, independently, Besicovitch established that the Hausdorff dimension of M(μ) is equal to 2/μ. We investigate the size of the intersection ofM(μ) with Ahlfors regular compact subsets of the interval [0, 1]. In particular, we propose a...
